A quick guide

Use the number with context

The answer is only useful when you know what it includes and what it leaves out.

How to use it

  1. Enter distance, units and expected mileage.
  2. Enter the current fuel price per litre and number of trips.
  3. Optionally add a declared markup to see a customer or trip charge.

Formula

Litres = distance in km ÷ mileage in km/L × trips; cost = litres × fuel price

The customer cost is a declared scenario charge, not a guaranteed delivery expense or statutory rate.

Make it concrete

Worked example

100 km at 15 km/L and ₹100/L uses 6.6667 litres and costs about ₹666.67 before markup.

Boundaries

What this tool does not assume

Limitations

  • Fuel price is user-entered and is not fetched from a station or provider.
  • Traffic, idling, route changes, tolls and maintenance are outside the estimate.

Edge cases

  • Zero distance produces zero litres and cost.
  • Zero mileage is rejected because it would divide by zero.
  • Miles and miles-per-gallon are converted using explicit constants.
