A quick guide
The answer is only useful when you know what it includes and what it leaves out.
Final price = original × (1 − discount 1 ÷ 100) × (1 − discount 2 ÷ 100)
Two discounts of 10% and 5% are not a combined 15% reduction because the second applies after the first.
Make it concrete
A ₹1,000 item with 10% then 5% discounts costs ₹855; total savings are ₹145 and the effective discount is 14.5%.
